Woot Derby #73: Optimism
172 Votes. 20th Place

Here is my latest entry, "Chip and a Chair". This week's theme is Optimism. I used a fish (poker term for new or bad player) and sharks (poker term for dangerous, seasoned players). The old poker saying is.. All you need to win is a Chip and Chair.

Voting Has Ended. 6th Place!

Derby #72: Book Titles Re-Interpreted
690 votes. 6th place.

"How Can I Vote?", You Ask?

Commenting on my designs is free. All you need to do is create an account at Woot.com.

Voting for my designs, however, requires that you purchase something from Woot.com, Shirt.Woot.com, or Wine.Woot.com. Once you have made a single purchase, you can vote for all the shirts you want in every derby from that point on.

Click on the following links, to see what Woot is currently offering for sale. However, please don't buy something just so you can vote. Thanks.

Daily at 10:00pm (pacific standard time),
http://www.woot.com/ offers a new item at a discounted price (always $5 shipping).

http://shirt.woot.com/ offers an original t-shirt for $10 (shipping included).

The top selling t-shirts can still be purchased (while they last) for $15 (shipping included). See what is still available at:

My First Three Shirt Designs for Woot

I've entered Shirt.Woot.com's weekly t-shirt design contest three times. These didn't make the cut, so they are not available to buy. Email me at ReflectiveRobot@gmail.com if you would like to be notified when these shirts are made available. I get the rights to print elsewhere after 60 days of when they were submitted.

I was using the name KnightVision3D, but in all future Woot contests I will be using the name ReflectiveRobot.

Derby #69: miniature worlds
My third entry. 266 votes. 16th place
Maybe Wooters don't want a large disgusting parasite on their chest?

Derby #67: video games through art history
My second entry. 192 votes. 29th place.
Discovered Wooters prefer larger design placement...
...and late entries are at a great disadvantage.

Derby #66: versus
My first entry. 42 votes. 103rd place.
Discovered that Wooters prefer more colors,
and don't love "Cream" shirts...
...or horrific acts of violence involving Unicorns.??
Didn't expect to win with this one, but it gave me the
chance to discover what was required to submit designs.

Launching ReflectiveRobot.com

I recently purchased the domain "ReflectiveRobot.com" so I can display my art and keep my friends, family and fans informed about my current art related activities online.

Until I have "ReflectiveRobot.com" up and running, I am using this blog (TheReflectiveRobot.blogspot.com).

In October, I started entering a weekly t-shirt design contest at Shirt.Woot.com. I plan to post the details of future contests here, along with my current designs, how to vote, etc.

Q: Why Reflective Robot?
A: Its relatively easy to remember and spell, so I can just tell someone in conversation, "I'll have the links on ReflectiveRobot.com". I will be creating a logo for the site, that features a robot that is both reflective in his body plates, as well as in his mind; reflecting on his own existence and the nature of the universe.

Part of the reason I chose this name, is that in the near future, I believe we will create an artificial intelligence that first equals the human mind, and then surpasses it. Its not a new idea. Science Fiction includes this idea all the time. I can just see it really happening very soon. Once we have intelligence greater than our own, we will rely on it as a tool.

Once human life no longer exists, the A.I. we have created will be our legacy in the universe. The first intersteller explorers are going to be A.I; not humans. They can survive the inhospitable stretches of space and time between stars. The Reflective Robot will continue where we left off; seeking answers to the questions we had yet to solve and representing mankind as our ambassador to other worlds.
